Project Notes
This 1860's house needed total restoration and
an addition. RBVa worked with the owner and BAM
architects to create an addition that was approved by the Commission on
Architectural Review. After selective demolition, new systems were
installed, retaining the original room design and trim. An old
termite-ridden shed and poorly built bathroom over the porch were
removed, and replaced by the addition and enclosed porch. The
addition housed a pantry, bath, laundry and storage area, and blended in
with the rest of the house. The restoration work qualified for
historic tax credits. Total project cost of $124,000.
